Zynga, one of the largest social games provider and maker of popular online games like Mafia Wars, YoVille, and Farmville, is releasing a new Wild West themed Facebook game called FrontierVille. Zynga’s Farmville who now has more than 80+ million monthly users is still one of the leading games played by Facebook users all around the world. The wild west approach featured in the upcoming social game FrontierVille will definitely remind mature gamers of their favorite childhood Wild West adventures and will certainly appeal to the newer generations than just tending crops and raising animals in a farm.
TechCrunch.com’s Michael Arrington reports that FrontierVille, one of the games whose name was registered last December, has started to pop up in screenshots on Facebook Developer test accounts. According to Arrington, the description for the game reads as follows:
“Howdy Pardner! Let’s explore a new life on the frontier. You gotta chop trees to construct buildings, clear land to raise livestock, plant crops, and raise a family. The untamed wilderness is hazardous, but your fellow pioneers are there to help.”
I guess people are now curious as to what kind of game will FrontierVille be. Will it be similar to Farmville? I think it’s for everybody to find out.
