Google Acquires ITA Software for $700M

Google has reached an agreement to buy ITA Software, a maker of air travel flight-information software whose customers include major airlines and online travel agencies. Google will pay US$700 million in cash for the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based software vendor, the companies announced on Thursday.

PepsiCo is now planning to stop distribution and selling of the company’s sugary drinks in schools worldwide. This plan came after they saw the success of certain programs in United States aimed at decreasing the rate of childhood obesity.
By 2012, these sugary drinks are expected to vanish from canteens in at least 200 countries. This is an action plan not expected from any soda producer.
