The very popular mobile game Angry Birds will soon hit the social networking giant’s gaming platform in a month, according to Rovio’s Chief Executive Officer Mikael Hed.

Angry Birds was first introduced in mobile platforms, especially those devices that run iOS, Android, Symbian and WebOS. With less than a year after its release, the puzzle game already surpassed more than 75 million downloads and is said to be on course to reach 100 million downloads sometime soon. The planned expansion on Facebook is said to bring the game’s dominance to an all-time high.

According to Rovio CEO Mikael Hed, “There will be completely new aspects to [the Facebook version] that just haven’t been experienced in any other platform.” “Because of the “collaborative nature” of Facebook “the pigs will have a more prominent role,” he added.

Angry Birds is a very addictive puzzle game where players control birds they can “flick” across their touchscreens to destroy smirking pigs and makeshift buildings made from wood and concrete pillers. The goal is to get the bird to break through the walls and hit the pigs. As the levels progress, the pigs are increasingly difficult to reach, and players have to figure out various angles at which to fling the birds, and which birds to use. Birds with various powers begin to appear in later levels.
